TO YOUTH
The Services to Youth Facet has a legacy of providing education and mentoring opportunities targeting middle school students in Metro Atlanta.
Currently the Facet is focused on presenting science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) education and career exposure opportunities that support and sustain STEAM certification at Crawford Long Middle School and Imhotep Academy. Our program eSTEAM-Ed: Empowering through STEAM Education, provides workshops where students participate in creative problem-solving and experimentation, developing a greater awareness and appreciation for STEAM concepts.
Teachers benefit from professional development and exposure to new technologies for classroom instruction. Facet leaders also serve on interview panels and act as community partners, providing information to STEAM certification organizations on behalf of other schools.
PROGRAMS
eSTEAM-Ed strengthens STEAM education in Atlanta public schools through hands-on projects, mentorship, and career exploration, benefiting more than 1,600 students and teachers since 2018 while building creativity, problem-solving skills, and awareness of STEAM careers.
